I'm sure some of you saw this title and assumed incorrectly. Sorry about that.
I've been told multiple times that I should write a book. I've thought about it, I've even started a few. I have a rough beginning to a book entitled "Diary of a Fat Girl" that would probably make you cry laughing....but there's no free time in my life! Truth is, even if I did write (and finish) a book, it wouldn't be as funny as my real life. I'm tellin ya people, you just can't make stuff like this up! Which leads me to the subject of this blog......
K&A are dying for FH&I to get married. Although we consistently tell them that weddings don't grow on trees, they still don't understand. They just aren't very patient when it comes to our wedding (no clue at all where that comes from.....).
So last night when we got home, the girls were waiting on FH to come over and see us. (They say the house is a lot more fun when he's around. I concur.) Kate saw a ring box in my room and informed me that she was "gonna repose to Michael!" They say 'repose' instead of 'propose'....it's just too hilarious to correct. So off Kate goes to put on a dress and make up. Mind you, the ring box had a girl ring in it so she improvised and found a small hoop earring that looked like a man ring. Here it is.
And then she got Alex in on the action.
Kate even had flowers from a wedding she went to this past Saturday.
So once Michael walked in the room, I told him to sit down in the recliner and I informed him that I had absolutely nothing to do with this! He was pretty sweaty cause he just finished working out before he came over, but this proposal had to happen quickly because dinner was ready!
This was all so funny to me!
As soon as she proposed, she said it was time for the wedding. No waiting around for her! And in true Katie May fashion, she asked me to go to my car to get a CD because their first dance was going to be to "Boom Boom Pow" by the Black Eyed Peas!!
All night long Kate called Michael her husband, and Alex informed me to "oooohhh girl, your FH is cheatin on you!" (her exact words)
So, as you can see, I could write a book. But there's no way it would be half as entertaining as my real life is!
Oh yeah, forgot to tell you, when she proposed, he said yes! Which gave me a great idea.....TOTALLY kidding! (kinda) Pin It Now!
I'm loving that Alex just started gymnastics! She is loving it too! I was really nervous because most of the girls there have been doing gymnastics since they were tiny so I didn't want her to be intimidated.....what was I thinking?? Alex doesn't let anybody intimidate her! She did awesome! The teacher even said she'd probably move up to level two within a month. I'm also loving that a high school friend of mine has a daughter that goes the same night as us so it's great catching up with her!
I'm loving that FH was in charge of gymnastics. He knew how much Alex wanted to do it so he signed her up! What a great FSD (Future StepDaddy) he is!
I'm loving that Kate started softball. I don't have any pics because I'm the crazy psycho mom that yells from the stands. I was too busy "coaching from the sidelines" to take any pics! I am so proud of her though. She's really gotten into softball and playing pitcher this year only makes her love it more! Pictures to come.....
I'm loving that we went to the Germantown Festival this past weekend. It was super fun and a great day for it. We only made two purchases....a shirt for me that I absolutely LOVE (for obvious reasons) and another shirt for FH which is too small for him almost so I'm hoping it's mine after it gets accidentally washed...... Here's my shirt:
Oh and my mom bought the girls these hair bows. They are great because they keep their hair out of their face really well!
Oh and the highlight of the day was face painting. Alex got "I love JB" on her face and FH and I thought it was funny. Our laughing embarrassed her so she got mad at us. So what does a mom do when her child is embarrassed?? Why embarrass herself of course.....this is how I ended up with my face painted. Plus I'm pretty sure FH loved it!
I'm loving Hueys! I've been craving a burger so we went the other night. Alex had a blast shooting the toothpicks in the air!
Even though they never actually landed in the ceiling, she did make one come back down and land in an empty glass. I bet most people couldn't do this if they tried!
And last but not least, I'm loving that K&A have such a big closet. They have so much fun playing in them, it's like a secret hiding place.....
We played hooky from church today. I'm not proud. But we've been going all weekend and the girls were ridiculously tired so I thought they should sleep in. They did. Until 8.
The girls went to McDonalds and Howard's Doughnuts with FH. I stayed home and read my book. The silence was glorious. Then we were off to feed the ducks. They scare me to death because they get a little too close to my toes. FH, being a man, likes to throw bread at my feet so that they get even closer! (I'm pretty sure men never grow out of that stage. They enjoy making us girls run and scream in fright.) I got some great pictures......
I'm loving that good things come in small packages.
I'm loving that FH sometimes surprises us with doughnuts in the morning....although when I'm trying to fit into my jeans I am NOT loving this!
I'm absolutely positively loving my crockpot! And I'm loving Crockpot Girls on fb! It's great to get up early in the morning and cook dinner so it's waiting on us when we get home! So far I've made taco soup, shredded BBQ pineapple chicken, and buffalo chicken dip. I've got lots of new recipes just waiting on me to try them. I'm doing much better at cooking and actually starting to enjoy it! Oh and my 3 loves are loving some Sloppy Joes! I didn't feel the need to tell k&a that they could probably cook them themselves.....I'll let them continue to think I'm a rockstar in the kitchen- no harm in that! I'm loving that Kate is playing fall softball this year....but hating that Alex isn't playing! Here's Kate with her bat bag on her back and her backpack on her front....both orange of course!
I'm loving that while Kate is at softball practice, Alex and I get time to hang out! Here's some pics from our walk yesterday, she had fun in the sprinklers!
I'm loving that Alex is resourceful.....
And I'm loving that Kate is just plain silly....
And last but not least, I am loving Golden Tee! FH and I love to go play this game and one of these days I'm gonna beat him (although he's obviously been playing for at least 20 years!!!)
Kate and Alex say so many hilarious things that it's hard to remember them all. I've decided the best way to keep track of them is to add them to my blog. So, the blog posts will probably be short and sweet, but will allow me to remember some of our reasons for giggling. Not too long ago, as I was doing dishes, Alex was telling FH&I bible stories that she knows from school. She told us about Adam and Eve. She said that Adam got to pick out her name! She thought that was pretty exciting. I asked her what God took from Adam to make Eve. Without a second delay or a blink of an eye, she responded with: "his spine." haha! We thought this was too funny!
I'm loving the smile on this face. And also Sunday lunch at Chilis. (which is where this pic was taken) they have a great happy hour where most appetizers are half price and it lasts all day on Sunday. All four of us can eat for about $20 and that is a price that I'm big lovin!!
I'm loving this picture that a friend of mine sent me. Because I really hate the word 'ain't'!
I'm loving this picture. (most of my fb friends have seen these pics but reposting anyways) I told Kate that she couldn't eat dinner in her white leggings. This was her solution.
I'm loving this sleeping child. Aren't they sweet when they're sleeping???
Except for this child. Do you see how she was laying when I went in to wake her up? Not to mention she still won't sleep under the covers cause she doesn't like the way her bed looks when she makes it.
I'm not so sure that I'm loving this child's obsession with UT but I'm definitely loving that I have tons of ideas for Christmas gifts for her this year!
Oh, and I'm loving that K&A hosted a dinner party at our table last night. Although it looks like they forgot to serve food to the guests......
